    Website errors

Please cut and paste any website errors you may receive when posting or browsing the forums.

I attempted to install an upgrade to the chat room this morning and it fubar'd the database.

I restored our latest nightly backup to get the website back up. There are a few database errors that I am trying to correct.

If you get any error that says "Duplicate entry '0' for key 1", cut and paste the entire error display you get so I can correct the database table the error refers to.

I think I fixed the ones you were talking about, there was an html issue with one of them, which will throw off all posts that quote a previous one.

    Zeb,

When I try to go to the casino site it lets me in but when I click on which game I want to play I don't have access. It says it's a premium member site and costs $$$ to join. What's up?

I had quite a bit, now it shows $0

I am working on several sections of the website tonight.

There will be some additional features when I am done.

Then don't hit the thanks button.:rofl3:

Casino is still down. I won't say how much I lost the other day, but I'm glad it was all forgiven, but not at the amount of trouble it has given Zeb. I get lost when my email won't work. Whew!! By the way Ghost, you gave me a bad email address, just like someone gives a fat chick a wrong phone number at the bar.

The new posts button is working now. However the "deal" button in the blackjack is inop, not to mention I had run up my account to 10,856,939 just after 6 am the day of the crash. Any chance of getting that back?:wink3:

The basic forum itself should be running fine now.

Add-ons and modifications may still contain errors.

I will be uninstalling all the add-ons and modifications, running an upgrade on the forum, and then re-install the add-ons and modifications. This process will take a few days (as my personal time allows). But until then, the basic functions of the forum should be fine. But the arcade, chatbox, thank you function, and other modifications that I have added over the last year may not work properly until I am finished upgrading and reinstalling.

I guess this is why they say always back up the database before installing something new - just in case the new addition fubars the database :tongue3:

It's too time consuming to write all the custom SQL statements that I need to fix the database errors in the add-ons and modifications. The basic forum alone required 75 new sql statements to fix just the base forum. The add-on would require almost triple that. So it will be much quicker to just uninstall them and re-install them. Losing that data is not as big of a deal as losing the forum data.

But this is actually how I have learned all I have about programming, database administration, and SQL - from having to get my hands dirty by getting under the hood of the database and programming after I have fubar'd something on the website.
