Default Yearly Fund Drive!!

Nornally this time of year is when we have ran our website community fund drive to secure funding for the yearly server lease.

This year will be slightly different.

Through our advertising partners, YardLimits does not need to seek community funding for our server lease this year.

So this year I ask every YardLimits Community member that is able to make a donation, make that donation to The Fallen Brother Fund.

The Fallen Brother Fund was established in June of 2009 by the membership of YardLimits.com as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation registered in the state of Texas to financially assist families of U.S. railway workers who have died in the line of duty.

All donations to the Fallen Brother Fund are tax deductible.

Please step up this year and support the fund.

How about setting a goal of (however much) $$$ and giving us the usual meter showing the funds contributed like you normally do with the YL fund drive? Some of us like to watch the meter exceed the goal like it normally does. I think it raises awareness to have the meter shown on the discussion forum index page. Good idea on the FBF fund raising Zeb!

I have the donation bar set up. I have also directed the links for the PayPal donations to go directly to the Fallen Brother Fund PayPal account - not YardLimits.

Batman is the Sec/Treas of the Fallen Brother Fund Board of Directors. If you have questions about donations, you can PM him or one of the other board members.

After your donation to the fund is confirmed, you should receive a PM with the Fallen Brother Fund Tax ID number for your tax records. The Fallen Brother Fund is a 501 (c) (3) charity and all donations are tax deductible.

If you prefer to mail a check versus using the automated PayPal donation system, you can mail your check directly to the Fund at:

Thanks Zeb! I think having the donation goal gives the fund visibility & all of us something to shoot for.

Can we have some casino cash if we donate? (Maybe will give some an incentive.) I know the carrier was running the tables in there & they cleaned me out!

Not a problem. For every dollar a member donates to the Fallen Brother Fund, I'll add 1000 in casino cash. So donate $25 to the Fallen Brother Fund, and you will get 25,000 in our online casino cash.

I chipped in some bux and suppose others have but the meter sits at zero, does it need a real surge to set it moving upward? Or is it tallied once every so often?

YardLimits does not have access to the FBF accounts. The FBF board will check their accounts and relay the donation totals over to me to update the donation bar.
