All were informed that they had to sign and signing only indicated tat we received the rule. It will take more than one person getting serious about this. So far little interest is shown. Only bitching about the lack of representation. Everyone is terrified that they will be fired for even mentioning union. Seems that way anyhow. I have finally got a couple of guys to see the importance of this. Im just hoping I can keep them in the right direction. How the hell do you motivate people to get organized before its too late? |

well if you listen most local union reps can never make everyone happy. we are all the biggest pricks who are not remembered for the timeslips we got paid, the jobs you got back or the discipline you got reduced or removed. but we are certainly remembered for that 20 minute claim we just cant get paid. many guys dont care about the union UNTIL THEY NEED IT. which in many cases it is too late.

The only way I've ever seen the men of a union come together was when they had MAJOR issues.
The first time I saw this truly was when they closed our terminal! It took something that major and by this point, it was too late! I hate to say it, but GSXR put it well. Most good LC's are treated like TP, we get used and flushed! LMAO. |

My dad was a union rep for many years and he says the same thing. You constantly get accused of being in bed with the company and rarely recognized that a small amount of politics is what has kept a few of them from loosing their jobs all together.
Believe me, he is no company man. I think I stumbled on a lot of the information that Ihad been looking for last night on the TCU website. It should only take about 5 more hours of reading, sifting and printing to have half the info Im looking for. |

The biggest thing was setting new agreements inside old ones. No matter how good of a job you did, someone or some group felt they took a hosing! Either the old heads or the young guys, or the cross agreement men (we no longer have those). So, you go figure, it doesn't take much to piss one small group off. The best thing you can do is to help your members and don't talk about them! There is one former LC at a nearby terminal that liked to talk about his members problems to others and it spread like wildfire! I would never speak to this sack of crap for an LC. |

Its called FELA. THe carrier does not have any authority under FELA to access your medical records unless you give them that authority. So make sure your doctor or the emergency room doctor is aware that you're covered under FELA and not under workman's comp. If the doctor is not aware that you are covered under FELA and thinks your covered under Workman's Comp your records could be released to the carrier official by this misunderstanding. So make sure they know you're covered under FELA and not workman's comp. Most Doctor's do not even know what FELA is. Most of the time this screw up happens in the emergency room.

There is something I want to get off my chest. It's about that summer, when you went away to community college. I got an offer to do Playgirl Magazine, and I did it. I did a full spread for Playgirl Magazine. I mean spread man, I pulled my butt apart and stuff. I was totally nude. it was weird, I... I mean you probably didn't hear about it because I went under the name of Mike Honcho. But I just wanted you to know that. If you can hear me, if it got into your brain somehow. That I spread my buttcheeks as Mike Honcho. |
