Groundrelay will become famous soon enough
Default Reversed Roles.

Well.... We have gone from stepping up to stepping down in ATL. They tried to call me and several other engineers out as a conductor last night. One guy did go out as a conductor. Might be time to bring back some of them furloughed employees!

Simple.... Don't do it!!!!!!
Let them suffer, then they can start the call back process as they need to in each terminal.

We are not supposed to be stepped down at all, but trickery and subterfuge have been used once or twice. One guy on another sub was forced to step down as Conductor under threat of street time. (hello?) His LC got him both the Conductor pay and the Engineer pay for the trip. Oddly enough the poor fellow had never actually been a Conductor, he got out of brakeman training and went straight engine school, and then never got cut back. I was catching the train he brought in, and I was incredulous when he wandered in covered with sweat and coal dust from tying handbrakes.

This is just my lowly opinion, but: A blind bum could've told them that they cut too deep....its all a big game to inflate their bottom line anyways. I'm just disappointed by the amount of people on here who bought into the fallacy of NS over hiring. More and more everyday we are seeing the need for these people across our system and yet some of us are still content to swallow the companies BS about how they are hurting. I realize that this may not be the case everywhere, and every terminal has different needs, but by and large NS screwed up royally and I think they should be made to lie in the bed that they have made for themselves!

Well you don't see'em stepp'in down in Portsmouth as the ones that did never got even engineers rate of pay...and in my book serves them right...like Throttle says let them suffer!

We still have the die hard sucks that just can't keep from answering the phone to jump up as the Big E! Of course we have those that do not wait for them to call...they are calling crew management to jump up! Funny when I work with them they always justify why they had to jump up. I just casually remind them about their fellow Brothers & Sisters who are loosing there house cause they will never get back since folks like them keep on jumping up every day...literally! Even the ones that swore they would NEVER jump up and called everyone else a scab have jumped up one time or the other.

Men are needed everywhere, but they are not calling them back even with the,new HOS coming into effect,,just makes me wonder why they won't.,local supervisors need them back,L/C are tring to get them back but to no avail.does it have something to do with the lawsuit?is it to show the goverment they don't have men in place for the HOS and tring to get an extention,or money?are they waiting till the end of the quarter?I have one other thought about it but if not true don't want to give them any ideas,I don't have the answers, but after 30+ years if they are not up to something it will be the first time.Just something to think about. But they just might be that f*#king stupid.

Hell I dont even get on yardlimits as much as I used to. I guess Im so used to the outcome that it dont matter. Not to sound negative but ill be really surprised if they call me back this summer. The coal business is so screwed up right now just like the stock market. Nobody is willing to throw there dick on the rail because they affraid its gonna get cut off. Where has all the men gone that have balls and are not affraid to take a few loses?

Meeting with Burgess and Lehman Monday for all the L/C's. I'll make sure this is on the front burner as a topic of discussion.
