I'll never understand this shit. It seems the NS desires to become more inefficient.

I really sick now over this. I think Im going to sell off all my shares as soon as I can. The NS is going to cut everybody who actually has a part in moving freight and will only be left with a surplus of trainmasters who 1) For the most part know nothing! 2) aren't capable of being productive, and 3)Couldn't run a train around a garden!

Harrisburg Division let go 1 student dispatcher and has announced effective August 1st the Buffalo Line desk will be abolished and the territory from that desk split between the Harrisburg East and Southern Tier dispatchers. Safety first!

Birmingham released all of their dispatcher trainees and eliminated a territory. Combined that with another dispatcher's duties.

Nope. No more pay. And when traffic picks back up, will they put these desks back on? Nope. Once they are gone, they are gone forever. Management makes these combinations and then wants to know why you can't keep up with the work.

it comes as no surprise these desks are being combined or cut off. hell traffic on some our districts is down 50% or more. i will say our chief dispatcher on our division has done everything possible to keep his people working, train them on seeing the territory they are dispatching and keeping desks on as he was instrumental in helping getting the people hired and desks added. hopefully business will return in the future and the desks will be put back on.
