Facebook blocked in Iran

Just a couple weeks before elections in Iran and President Ahmadinejad in attempt to block his opposition's favor in gaining votes from young people has blocked facebook.

Do we see this type of politics in our own govt?
Where one uses their own position to for their own good.
Sure I would have to say yes.. Look at Pelosi several months ago, right after her re-election, modified her term limits so she could serve in that capacity longer..

It's crooked and cheating if you ask me...

Or how bout Bush starting a war on lies since history shows the incumbunt has a greatly increased chance of being reelected while a war is going on.

I am asking for ways our politicians use their positions to their benefit.

My wife tried to teach me some of Clinton's positions, but alas, I am too old and set in my ways....

Wouldn't the question be easier to answer if you asked "What politician DIDN'T use their position for personal gain"? It'd be a lot shorter list.

easier yes... but we wouldn't see all their many crooked ways.

maybe enough is said but i'd like a list...'

is our govt just as rotten as iran?

does it depend on who is in office?

We all know how Clinton used his power to his benifit and I'm sure he wasn't the only one. Just the only one good enough to not get caught.
