state run education sucks. as mentioned before,it's all fine & dandy till someone runs out of money, then the kids suffer. rich states don't have a problem.why don't we try to offer the same level of education everywhere? it costs an arm & a leg now to go to college when it used to be you could work your way through college with a part time job.that is not the fault of the government.schools have proven they are more interested in making money than educating people.

It's funny to watch Fox Noise's Niel Caputo do his ad for the teabag party....he says "WE (Fox Noise) covered the Miliion Man March".....sounds good, except for the fact that the Million Man March took place a year before Fox Noise started.......more credible reporting from Fox Noise.....

It is interesting you say this since testing indicates that the overall education of students has declined since the DOEd was created. As for college, why is it so expensive? Ask Harvard that has an endowment fund so huge it could pay for all its students to attend there every year for approximately 100 years but yet all they do is continue to build on it. Why? College is expensive because it is big business and continuing to throw money at them is not going to solve this.

I was wrong as scores have declined since 1972, not 1979 and only in the last 10 to 12 years have we even started to rise and we are still not back to where we were in 1972. Goes to the point even more. Scores were better before DOEd. Why worse now after throwing trillions more at the department while moving control away from the parents and localities to DC. I can tell you. Because no bureaucrat in DC can tell any parent or citizen of a state how better to educate their children.

If the city and states get moving and agresively put an end to waste, there will be that much less reliablility on fed tax dollars. It would take me about ONE day to observe a local govt and find ways to cut their budgets by 10 - 15%. Anyoen can do it. Now if it is that easy on a local level, you cannot thell me someone is not smart enough to do this on a national level. 1. take home vehicles. Sorry... drive your own car to work 2. Pres limo.... did W take his with him? 3. Congressional pay for life....... Who the fuck else gets paid for life after only 2 - 6 yrs of service? 5. Un-needed jobs that cost money when money is short....... Kal Penn 6. If a man/woman spends more time playing solitare and surfing the web than working...... enough said.... Ive seen this one personally. |
