From time to time when I had money I would give to one of those feed the children funds. And I was told I could not send anything other than pictures or pages out of a coloring book to the children. The reason was the "authorities" would STEAL them and the kids would not get the gifts. That always irked the heck out of me, the kids already have a tough life! Also I have always said, EDUCATE the people about birth control. I cant stand to see starving kids, how can their own parents watch it? Point is there is alot of corruption over there,by their own people. It is sad.

There is a lot of corruption here too. We have plenty of politicians and people willing to rob us blind. Many Countries have the same problems and issues. When I send packages to South America - it's the same story with theft.. what I do is place a picture of Jesus on the outside of the package. They are mostly catholic there and officials will usually not open it then.

Jim just because a Country is poor and has a multitude of bad thugs, doesn't mean you give up on people and wish the County was wiped clean. There are some amazing talented families in Africa. Just cause you don't see it doesn't make it not so...
